Poettker Industrial Wins Ameren Eagle and Best In Class-High Volume Awards

Breese, Ill., July 8, 2025 – Poettker Industrial Services, a woman-owned business specializing in utility construction, won the prestigious Ameren Eagle and Best In Class-High Volume Awards, recognizing the company’s outstanding performance in safety, execution, leadership and commitment on its 86 projects for Ameren in 2024.

“Ameren is one of Poettker Industrial’s key accounts, so winning their distinguished Ameren Eagle and Best in Class awards means even more coming from them,” said Kimberly Schlautman, President of Poettker Industrial. “I couldn’t be prouder of the team, and we sincerely thank Ameren for their partnership and continued business.”

Of the 109 applicants in 2024, only 10 companies earned the Ameren Eagle Award, the highest accolade that Ameren bestows. To achieve the honor, Poettker Industrial Services earned more than 95% of the possible points in the areas of Lost Work Day Away (LWA) Rate, Days Away Restricted Transferred (DART) Rate, Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), Preventable Motor Vehicle Incident (PMVI), Preventable Outage Rate, Contractor First Line Safety Seminar (CFLSS), Trending Reports, Recognition Program, and Near Miss/Good Catch Reporting.

Poettker also received Ameren’s Best In Class-High Volume Award, which is presented to the contractor that exceeds 25,000 work hours on Ameren projects within a year and achieves the highest score in its respective discipline. With safety as a Core Value, this honor also recognizes outstanding performance, leadership, and team commitment.

Every Tuesday, the entire Poettker Industrial team participates in a safety call to share best practices and keep safety efforts top of mind. In addition to a biannual continuous improvement meeting, Poettker Industrial employees can complete safety training on the company’s learning management system, Elevate.

“At Poettker Industrial, we approach every job with the belief that safety is everyone’s responsibility and no accident is unpreventable,” said Trey Wiegmann, Vice President of Construction Services at Poettker Industrial. “We exceed minimum safety standards by employing a High-Risk Operations program to enhance hazard recognition and put a very high emphasis on listening and supporting the craftsman in the field. When it comes to safety, it’s paramount that communication between every echelon of the company is in sync, the expectations are crystal clear, and we all are focused on looking out for one another.”

With senior leaders, field leaders and field workers all actively contributing to safety inspections, Poettker Industrial truly embodies a culture of safety. The team is actively working toward achieving its third consecutive Ameren Eagle Award for 2025.
