Kimberly Luitjohan, President | Poettker Industrial

KIMBERLY LUITJOHAN, PRESIDENT

With over 20 years of construction finance and management experience, Kim began her career in 2001, working for her family’s construction management firm. She worked in various roles learning the processes of all company operations.

In 2010, at the age of 26, Kim was promoted to Vice President of Finance, where she was instrumental in managing the firm’s growth by overseeing financial, employee, and asset operations, from bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, state and federal tax management, payroll, human resources, IT, and inventory management. Under Kim’s direction, the firm saw significant increases, with revenue up 600%, employment up 215%, asset inventory up 204%, and a 10 state increase in the firm’s geographic footprint over a 10-year period. Kim’s tremendous leadership approach led her to be recognized as a 40 under 40 Class of 2020 recipient by the St. Louis Business Journal.

In 2021, Kim was appointed to the Board of Directors and promoted to Executive VP & Chief Financial Officer of Poettker Construction and its affiliated companies. Under her leadership, the firm continues to achieve success in meeting its strategic milestone initiatives for revenue growth, employment, market-sector specialization, and equipment inventory and asset management.

After the sudden passing of her father and mentor in 2021, Kim knew she wanted to carry out her father’s legacy and family’s passion for construction and offer expanded services in the Utility, Infrastructure, Industrial, and Commercial markets. From this dream, she started Poettker Industrial Services, a women-owned business with a vision to provide safe, quality, and sustainable solutions to help clients achieve their infrastructure expansion and construction initiatives.

Kim is a leader in the company’s philanthropic initiatives, giving back to the community through advocacy, fundraising, and educational efforts. Her strong community relationship culture is showcased by her personal involvement in multiple non-profit organizations, including HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Breese Foundation Leadership Council, Junior Achievement, and Schools of Character.
