Poettker Industrial Services President Honored as a Most Influential Business Woman
Breese, Ill., August 20, 2025 – Kimberly Schlautman, President of Poettker Industrial Services, earned the prestigious honor of Most Influential Business Women by the St. Louis Business Journal.
“I am honored to be included among this year’s class of the Most Influential Business Women,” said Schlautman. “The accolade is a testament to Poettker Industrial’s continuous endeavors to grow and develop. I’m proud to carry on my father’s legacy by leading a team dedicated to providing outstanding performance, leadership, and commitment to our clients. He would be so proud to see what this team has achieved after just four years of business.”
Schlautman began her career at Poettker Construction Company, the business her father founded in Breese, IL. After exploring various career paths, she found her calling in Finance.
“At just 20 years old, I stepped into the accounting department of our family business during one of its most difficult seasons,” said Schlautman. “The company was facing serious challenges, and I was needed — ready or not. I had to quickly learn every step and procedure that touched the department. Looking back, it was the most intimidating chapter of my career, but with faith and determination, we got through it and came out stronger on the other side.”
As Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Schlautman helped Poettker Construction achieve a 600% increase in revenue, a 215% increase in employment, a 204% increase in asset management, and expansion into 10 additional states.
In 2021, the passing of her father motivated Kim to launch her own business, Poettker Industrial Services, with a focus on general contracting and self-perform services in utility construction. Just four years later, the business grew by an astounding 2,715% in its construction of transmission and distribution, substations, utility infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.
“I have been so blessed to have a wonderful, fulfilling career so far,” said Schlautman. “I would love to continue to expand the services Poettker Industrial offers in the utility, energy, and infrastructure markets and to enhance my philanthropic impact as a co-chair of our family’s foundation.”
